Dan Razzell: I bought a selection of these carbide burrs, all with 1/4" shank, for cutting out some rusty nail heads in planking on my 1956 sailing yacht. Chucked into a compact plunge router, the radius burr is ideal for making the initial shallow bore. If a substantial nail head remains, I can follow up with an end burr. The plunge router holds the tool securely against the work to allow a controlled cut with minimal skipping. A slow speed is best to minimize burning the soft wood. The burr teeth soon fill with partially fused wood powder, but still manage to cut acceptably well. A fine brass brush will clean the teeth if necessary, but it's not commonly necessary until final cleanup. At that point a brief soaking in xylene will fully release the debris. I'm impressed at how easily and completely these burrs clean up. The tooth faces are very finely polished.

Ken Tompson: I used this product to create countersinks in 1/8" diameter holes drilled in 416 stainless steel. The burr was mounted in a vertical mill/drill running at 1450 rpm with a very slow feed rate. The countersinks were perfect and examination of the burr under 10x magnification showed no wear whatsoever. A couple days later I (accidentally) ran the burr at 770 rpm in the same operation which resulted in minor chipping on two of the flutes. My mistake. Very happy with this product and will continue using and buying more when needed.

bob: Works just like the ones from the tool store but at a cheaper cost for the same product as far as i am concerned.
